Chicago, IL, March 11, 2026 – Mike DFG, the independent artist hailing from Chicago’s West Side, just released his latest single “Detonated Free$tyle.”, marking the start of a new era for the up and coming artist. During this transitionary period, Mike was selected as an “Artist in Residence” at StudioSHAPES, a prominent Chicago-based recording studio. Here, he mastered the single and much of the remainder of the project. “Detonated Free$tyle” was recorded at LSD Studios, another frequented creative space for the artist. The song itself sends a powerful message about not losing sight of your love for the game, even when the times are tough and all odds are against you – we asked Mike directly about what feelings the song is intended to capture.
